KSR Wins Securities Case For Former NFL Player

April, 2020 – KSR won summary judgment on behalf of a former NFL player who invested in a company that was supposed to operate a sports training facility. The training facility was never established. KSR replaced the client’s previous attorney and brought new claims under the Illinois Securities Law of 1953. The firm then quickly moved for summary judgment on one of the securities claims. The Court ruled in favor of KSR, finding there was “an actionable omission under Section 12(F) of the Act.” The Court awarded rescission of the investment, interest dating back to 2014, and attorney’s fees. Daryl Schumacher and Ashley Fawver handled the case.
